TPT Cigar Log ("we," "us," or "the app") is a private digital journal for rating, tracking, and curating your personal cigar collection and tasting experiences. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our app on iOS, Android, or the web. By using the app, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

When you create an account and use the app, we collect:

• Account information: Your email address (for login and notifications), an optional display name, and an optional profile photo.
• Journal and humidor data: Cigar reviews, tasting notes, ratings, humidor inventory, and gift records you create. This data is private to your account.
• Social content: Posts, comments, likes, and direct messages you choose to share within the community features.
• Photos: Images you upload for reviews, posts, or your profile photo, stored on our secure servers.
• Device and usage data: Basic analytics such as app version, device type, and feature usage to help us improve the app.

How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and authenticate your identity.
• To store and display your private journal entries, humidor inventory, and reviews.
• To power community features such as the social wall, comments, likes, follows, and direct messaging.
• To send you email and in-app notifications about new posts, messages, and social activity (you can adjust these in Settings).
• To locate nearby cigar shops using your device's location (only when you actively use the Find Shops feature; location is not stored).
• To analyze usage patterns and improve app functionality and performance.

How we store and protect your data

Your data is stored securely on our cloud infrastructure. Account passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Your private journal entries and humidor inventory are accessible only to you. Social content (posts, comments, messages) is visible to the participants you share it with. We use row-level security to ensure users can only access their own private data and the conversations they are part of.

Data sharing and third parties

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only as necessary to operate the app:

• Cloud hosting: Our backend provider stores and processes your data to deliver app functionality.
• Authentication: If you sign in with Google, Google authenticates your identity; we receive only your email and basic profile info.
• Map services: The Find Shops feature uses third-party map data to display nearby shops; your precise location is not shared with or stored by us.
• Legal compliance: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

Account & data deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. Delete directly in the app from Settings, or request deletion by email if you no longer have the app installed.

Your privacy choices

• Notifications: You can enable or disable email and in-app notifications for new posts and messages in Settings.
• Profile photo and display name: You can add, change, or remove your profile photo and display name at any time in Settings.
• Location: The Find Shops feature requests your location only when you actively use it; you can deny location access in your device settings.
• Account deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings. This action cannot be undone.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal information, journal entries, humidor inventory, social posts, comments, and messages from our systems. Some data may remain in encrypted backups for a limited time before being permanently deleted.

Children's privacy

The app is intended for adults of legal smoking age. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the legal age in their jurisdiction. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can exercise most of these rights directly within the app (editing your profile, deleting reviews, deleting your account). For any additional requests, contact us at the email below.
